The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) (3-minute walk | 11 W 53rd St) Located a mere two blocks from our lobby, MoMA houses one of the world's preeminent collections of modern and contemporary art. From Van Gogh's The Starry Night to massive, striking contemporary installations, it is an absolute must-visit. Local Tip: Give yourself a bit more time than you think you need to fully absorb the shifting exhibitions and the peaceful courtyard sculpture garden.

Carnegie Hall (8-minute walk | 57th St and 7th Ave) Arguably the most storied and acoustically perfect concert hall in America. Carnegie Hall's incredible programming runs year-round across its historic main stage and two intimate ancillary venues. If you appreciate performance art, this is an institution worth planning an entire trip around.

Radio City Music Hall (9-minute walk | 1260 6th Ave) Step into a masterclass of Art Deco grandeur at civic scale. While the star-studded productions—ranging from massive touring musicians to iconic holiday spectaculars—are in a category of their own, the meticulously preserved 1930s interior alone completely justifies buying a ticket.

The Frick Collection (15-minute walk | 1 E 70th St) Take a scenic stroll up toward the Upper East Side to visit Henry Clay Frick's spectacular Fifth Avenue mansion. This historic home houses one of the finest private art collections in the world. Here, masterpieces by Vermeer, Rembrandt, Velázquez, and Turner hang in the precise, intimate domestic rooms they were originally intended for.
Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) (13-minute walk | 2 Columbus Circle) Perched at the southwest corner of Central Park, MAD celebrates contemporary craft, art, and design. Housed inside a striking, uniquely patterned building, this museum offers an intimate look at how materials are transformed by creators today. It is wonderfully less crowded than its larger neighbors and entirely worth the visit.
New York Public Library: Stephen A. Schwarzman Building (18-minute walk | 476 5th Ave) The majestic marble lions flanking the entrance have kept watch over Fifth Avenue since 1911. Beyond its status as one of the great public buildings and architectural achievements in the world, the Schwarzman Building remains one of the city's most inspiring, active spaces for quiet study and historical research.
